The Circuit Breaker program assists seniors and disabled individuals in Illinois with their property taxes, rent, and transportation. To qualify, you must:

1) Be an Illinois resident 65 years of age or older (or a disabled Illinois resident age 16 or older)

AND

2) Have a yearly income below: $27,610 for a one-person household; $36,635 for a two-person household; $45,657 for a three- or more person household.

 

The Circuit Breaker Program provides grants for property taxes or rent, a $75 discount on vehicle license plates, and a Ride Free Transit Card. You may also qualify for prescription drug assistance through Illinois Cares Rx.
