The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) provides prescription drug assistance to low and moderate-income individuals living with HIV. Administered by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), ADAP covers 81 drugs including all anti-retroviral therapies approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Basic eligibility standards require that a patient have an HIV or AIDS diagnosis, complete an online application (accessible at www.idph.state.il.us/health/aids/adap.htm), and qualify financially (annual income equal to or less than 300% of the federal poverty level if applying for the first time after July 1, 2011). Further eligibility requirements and the online application form can be found on the IDPH website.
